Responsibilities

  • Manage the month end and quarter end functions – approval of journal entries, interfaces, and reconciliations ensuring timelines are met
  • Support operations- attending meetings with management of various departments and provide guidance on accounting for inventory including cost factors and adders.
  • Hire, train and develop new Inventory Accounting team members; mentor staff and effectively manage employee performance, including conducting performance appraisals
  • Special projects – participate in system enhancements projects and projects to correct system errors or other new corporate initiatives
  • Assist with the preparation of Audit working papers, schedules and meet with auditors
  • Focus on process improvement to meet and exceed business expectations
  • Document, identify business risks and internal controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Essbase, Microsoft Access, and SQL is an asset.
  • Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Strong financial analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
