Join us to build the digital economy of tomorrow.Job DescriptionComplete credit-focused periodic reviews on Checkout.com’s portfolio of Payment Facilitators, assessing the overall credit-worthiness of of the platform to support the risks associated with their sub-merchant activityWork with the Director of Platform Underwriting to build a comprehensive audit framework for Checkout.com’s portfolio of Payment FacilitatorsCollaborate with cross-functional risk teams (Financial Crimes Compliance, Schemes Compliance, Fraud & Risk Monitoring, Credit Portfolio Management, Legal & Regulatory) to understand and incorporate key considerations from each function in the Payfac audit programCoordinate and facilitate annual cross-functional audits for the CKO’s portfolio of Payment FacilitatorsPrepare detailed oral and written summary regarding audit findings, issues, and mitigants to risks. Where applicable, prepare detailed remediation plans (including timelines) to be addressed by the platformWork with the Account Manager to deliver shadow underwriting results and monitor corrective actions identified throughout the course of the audit processIn regions where Checkout.com works with a third party acquiring partner, prepare and deliver a summary of audit resultsAct as an approver for concurrence reviews (for Payfac onboarding & shadow underwriting)Evaluate and concur on Payment Facilitators’ requests for additional restricted lines of business, or sub-merchant falling outside of the Payfac’s sole approval authorityAssist the Director of Platform Underwriting with strategic initiatives tied to process creation/improvements and Integrated Platforms product enhancementsQualifications5+ years of merchant service work experience related to merchant underwriting or equivalent underwriting workFamiliarity with the merchant processing industry, particularly risk and operational processesExpert business model assessment and identification of credit risk exposureDeep knowledge of financial statement analysis and analyzing credit exposureGeneral knowledge of other risk disciplines (Financial Crimes Compliance, Schemes Compliance, Fraud & Risk Monitoring, Credit Portfolio Management, Legal & Regulatory)Solid written and verbal communication skillsAbility to navigate complex, project-based workGeneral knowledge of Checkout.com’s Integrated Platforms product offeringHighly curious and thoughtful – a proactive self-starter with a sense of urgency in a fast paced environment and a desire to get to the source of anything even the least bit fishyA highly analytical team player who loves to evaluate different elements of riskAbility to exercise sound judgment and decision the work of othersStrong collaboration skills, and the ability to build rapport with direct teammates and members of other departmentsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent experience requiredAdditional InformationApply without meeting all requirements statementIf you don’t meet all the requirements but think you might still be right for the role, please apply anyway.
