Work schedule to be discussed with Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.The Media Solutions team is looking for a driven and passionate Sales Manager, responsible for developing short and long term sales strategies to direct the sales force in strategic account management initiatives. You will secure industry partnerships to maximize advertising and sponsorship revenue potential. The Sales Manager will develop and maintain relationships with key business partners and clients. You are an innovative thinker with excellent negotiation skills, sales tactics and above-average people skills.Your roleThe Sales Manager will be responsible for the supervision and direction of the day-to-day operations of the sales team, providing staff with leadership, direction, motivation, problem solving, coaching and training. You will ensure revenue opportunities are identified, targeted and maximized to their true potential and direct account management activities to ensure they are consistent in application and practice. Additionally, you will promote and present CBC/Radio-Canada, to develop and maintain relationships in the industry (with both internal and external clients) and to keep abreast of industry trends and developments.As the Sales Manager, you will develop long-term strategies for the marketplace. You will also present proposals at meetings with senior clients. You will analyze operational requirements and manage the departmental budget while preparing reports on revenue and market activity for the Leadership Team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for strategic account planning, bi-weekly revenue forecast and management reports. You will also provide input for territory and business plans (including reporting, budgeting and forecasting responsibilities).We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent with an emphasis on business or marketing preferredFive to ten years of progressive experience in the Digital advertising industry. Experience on the Broadcast side of things is an asset.Extensive understanding of all aspects of media sales, sales administration and marketing functionsExcellent negotiation skills with a solid track record of successExtensive computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Google productsAbility to review and assimilate various forms of research and market conditions into coherent sales strategiesDemonstrated ability to thrive under pressure, juggling multiple deadlines, think and act strategically to ensure the right activities are conducted in support of business objectives.Strong business management and strategic marketing skills to guide business development analysis. Ability to manage business planning and revenue forecasting.Demonstrated superior communication (verbal and written) skills including compelling presentation abilities.Proven ability to lead and manage a team of people and create a culture of learning that drives individual development.
