Job Introduction

Manufacturing Technician – Late shift – £16.60 per hour equivalent

The role is a Fixed Term Contract of 12 months

Monday – Thursday 2.00pm – 10.30pm and every other Friday 12.00pm – 8.30pm (36 hour week) – £31,087.16 salary (£13.81 hourly equivalent). Yes, we work a 9 day fortnight!

Based at our Skipton, North Yorkshire manufacturing site. Please only apply if you live within a commuting distance of Skipton BD23 2RW .

The Role

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

• Manufacture product to high standard ensuring the quality of those products is in accordance with the set GMP standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Attend and comply with any planned in house training or on the job training.
• Capable and willing to train others in the team.
• To ensure the efficient and safe use of plant and equipment.
• To keep strictly to manufacturing methods as laid down in the documentation and raise any issues or errors with the Manufacturing Supervisors or Manager
• To ensure all equipment is clean and maintained in good working order and where deficiencies are found, escalating to a supervisor.
• Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and personal hygiene within the department.
• To notify the Manufacturing Manager, Supervisor or Senior Manufacturing Technicians, as a matter of urgency, if there has been any serious failure of safety or GMP which could affect staff safety or product quality or operational efficiency.
• To identify any issues and attempt to resolve these and escalating if it cannot be resolved.
• To support Operational Excellence incentives to drive and improve efficiency.

You

A self-motivated enthusiastic individual who can work well within a team environment performing manufacturing activities including the operation and cleaning of equipment, whilst being able to complete associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner, in line with strict procedures . A person with a positive attitude who can constructively challenge others as well as give and receive feedback in a respectful and professional manner whilst demonstrating the Dechra values.

Essential

• Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety compliance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both peers and senior members of staff.
• Ability to work in manual role with good dexterity
• A positive attitude
• Local to our Skipton site

Desirable

• Experience of low to medium volume manufacturing/packaging, manual/semi-automated manufacturing processes.
• Proven industry experience from a highly regulated GMP manufacturing/packing facility, either from the Pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry/environment.
• A working knowledge and practical experience of pharmaceutical manufacture, continuous improvement activities and ability to manage time and workload effectively
