Job Description:Marine Warranty Services is a team within our Markets and Risk business unit which delivers marine warranty services for Oil & Gas, Renewable projects across the world but primarily focusing on North America. Our Customer base includes Oil & Gas majors, Offshore Wind Farm developers, Installation Contractors, Underwriting Companies and Project Cargo transporters.We are hiring a Marine Warranty Engineer/ Surveyor with offshore transportation and or installation engineering and field experience. The candidate will work predominantly on Marine Warranty and Consultancy projects at a package/project manager level. Additionally, they will undertake MWS engineering review, consultancy and site attendances on marine warranty projects including: Offshore/marine transportation, Heavy Lifts, load-out and installation of fixed and floating structures, pipelines and cables, subsea equipment and project cargo.This role is based at our DNV office in St. Johns, NL Canada where employees will typically be working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process. Candidate will need to be flexible to travel domestic, international and to offshore locations for periods of time and sometimes at a short notice.What You’ll Do

  • Technical document reviews and site attendances with respect to MWS requirements.
  • Meeting the project schedule and budget for MWS projects.
  • Ensuring that the project is delivered in accordance with the agreed project technical standards and current industry codes.
  • When managing MWS project(s) candidate will be responsible for timely delivery of project deliverable as per project scope and expectations of our Client, ensuring quality of deliverables, risk management, liaising with clients, technical delivery, delegating certain projects/tasks, report writing, checking, authorization, and submission, surveyor mobilizations and logistics, cost control and invoicing.
  • Preparing bids/proposals in conjunction with the other members of the bid team.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, Subsea Engineering or Master Mariner
  • Possess relevant knowledge of Loadout, Installation and Transportation methods, Codes of Practice, Rules and Guidelines
  • Experience delivering MWS/Consultancy projects within schedule and on budget and can demonstrate a proven ability for project management
  • Current Offshore medical
  • Offshore installation experience
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility in working conditions including a willingness to travel offshore and domestic / international often adhoc or at very short notice
  • Motivation to learn and grow their professional career
  • Team Player, ability to multi-tasking and logical thinking

What is Preferred

  • SOMWS membership
  • BOSIET / GWO Certificate together with a valid offshore medical certificate
  • Relevant offshore load out, transportation and installation experience, with Offshore Windfarm foundations/ WTG’s
  • Experience with preparations of bids, knowledge of cost estimation, contractual aspects of proposal preparation
  • Currently working towards or have Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification
  • Experience working wind farm installation projects
  • Experience with transport and Installation of Wind Turbine Generator Components and foundations
