Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.Start Pay: $31.44 per hour + $1.00 per hour night shift premium, it will be increased after 90 days and 180 daysWorking Hours: 7 days on 7 days off, 6:00pm to 6:00am.Paid Training: 2 – 5 days in Edmonton before your assignment.Job Type: Full-time, regularWhy RyderWeekly payCompetitive wage rateAnnual Merit increaseHealth Benefits after 30 daysRRSP and stock optionsRetirement program and Deferred Profit SharingRyder perks and discounts for employees – travel & hotel accommodations, automotive discounts, gym membership discounts and more!Essential FunctionsPerform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle countingPerforming duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contractResponsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucksResponsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of productionAdditional ResponsibilitiesPerforming duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.Skills and AbilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamAbility to be a team player and able to work within a diverse work environmentAbility to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)Able to work within a diverse work environmentHighly thorough and dependableMust be punctual and have a good attendance recordPerforms work independently with minimal supervisionPossesses a high degree of initiativeDemonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressureAbility to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbsAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility to work using health and safety methodsMust be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various work shiftsDetail oriented with excellent follow-up practicesQualificationsH.S. diploma/GED preferredOne (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferredValid Forklift Operator’s License certified preferred.Travel
