Transdev is now hiring multiple Red Seal Heavy Duty or Commercial journeyman mechanics for our Kitimat, British Columbia location! (Fly In, Fly Out)We are seeking permanent, full-time mechanics. We are also offering a competitive hourly rate starting at $47.31/hr!Your role:

• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmission clutches.
• Use computer diagnostic equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust or replace parts using hand and power tools.
• Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately and maintain records of all maintenance work.
• Notify supervisors of dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken, and report major safety observations.
• Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
• Move vehicles safely between job and work areas and perform test drives to ensure proper performance.
• Overhaul engines and work on power shift transmissions, fuel injection, hydraulics, and electronics.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Train staff as required and assist with toolbox meetings.
• Handle routine repairs, including oil and tire changes, and write detailed inspection reports and repair plans.
• Follow all motor vehicle repair shop regulations and standards.

Your profile:

• Red Seal Heavy Duty or Commercial Journeyman certification is preferred.
• You have a Class 5 (BC) Drivers License with air endorsement (Must be willing to obtain Class 2 license within 3 months of hire).
• You have a CVIP Inspection certificate.
• You have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
• You have advanced problem-solving ability.
• You have advanced computer skills.
• You are able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• You are able to work assigned shifts.
• You must have experience with Diesel Vehicles.

Your location:

• This is a unionized position in Kitimat, BC.
• The work schedule 14 days On Site, 14 days Off. 12hr/day
