Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Medical Assistant in Toms River, NJ! This role is onsite / in person.Type: Three-month contract, with potential for extension or full-time offerSchedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4 pmPay: $22 – $24/hrLocation: Toms River, NJ onsiteResponsibilities of the Medical Assistant:· Facilitates the provision of care to patients by accurately documenting clinical information· Perform following duties according to Optum, including but not limited to: obtain physical measurements which includes heights, weights, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate and all documented according to department standards. Reports abnormal results to the provider. Performs EKGs.· Organize patient care area based upon patient needs and priorities as identified by the department.· Assists physicians with procedures and studies.· Schedule ancillary test for patients if requested by physician and provide patients with ancillary services information such as telephone number and address· Maintains open communication with the provider regarding patient care matters.· Demonstrates health care informatics competency in order to manage patient care, outcome data and current and emerging health care technology, which includes:· Basic computer competency, including the effective use of patient care devices, computers, computer software programs such as e-mail and word processing programs.· Information literacy, including the effective use of electronic resources for patient care· Information management skills, including the effective use of the electronic health record and clinical information systems.· Utilize infection prevention and control procedures according to health system policy· Stock patient exam rooms· Perform assigned clerical duties including but not limited to registration, scheduling, answering phones, chart preparation and patient appointments· Assists multiple specialty.Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:· Highschool/GED or equivalent· Minimum of one-year experience in a health care environment and previous knowledge of Healthcare Insurance carriers preferred.· High School Diploma or equivalent· Medical Assistant Certification (must be one of the 7 certifications accepted by State of New Jersey)· BLS certification· Knowledge of EMR-Epic preferred.· Vaccinations required: MMR, Flu Shot, Varicella, TB Blood Test, Hep B., Tdap· Experience with Cardiology and Dermatology is a plus.Why work for Adecco?· Weekly Pay· 401(k) Plan· Skills Training· Excellent medical, dental, and vision benefitsBenefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
