The incumbent is responsible for promoting communication among all care providers, patients, and office staff regarding the care plan for the patient as defined by the attending physician. This individual attends to patients utilizing the age appropriate principles of growth and development for patients of all ages according to the practice specialty.Clinical Functions:Administrative Functions:·Taking patients to rooms·Greeting patients·Obtaining vital signs·Scheduling appointments·Assisting with medical procedures·Answering phones·Performing phlebotomy·Clerical & computer work·Obtaining lab specimens·Prior authorizations·Adhering to safety and infection guidelines·Billing and coding·Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR)·Faxing·Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations·Disability & Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperworkYou may be eligible for some of our hiring programs:

QualificationsRequired:
- Graduate of a medical assistant program (or) One year as a Medical Assistant
Desired:
- One year as a Medical Assistant
- Certified Medical Assistant
