CNO Financial Group’s IT Team is hiring a Microsoft Cloud Security Sr IT Security Engineer who will be CNO’s subject matter expert on the secure implementation, use, and maintenance of the Microsoft cloud environment. Primarily focused on Microsoft Cloud solutions (Microsoft 365 & Azure), the Microsoft Cloud Sr IT Security Engineer will work hands-on with relevant security tools and processes to support the secure, efficient, and effective use of those technologies through their lifecycle to help secure CNO’s electronic assets and data. The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining security technologies while continually looking for opportunities to optimize operations.

As a Microsoft Cloud Security Sr IT Security Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Driving annual projects and deliverables aligned with company business goals and strategies, as communicated by the CISO and senior leadership.

• Serving as a subject matter expert during security incidents, providing guidance and support for resolution.

• Identifying risks within the environment and coordinating timely remediation activities to protect information assets.

• Continuously monitoring changes, logs, behaviors, and other environmental factors to evaluate and improve the organization’s security posture.

• Designing and implementing key security controls and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Microsoft Cloud Platforms security.

• Partnering with technical and security teams, translating complex security information for various audiences, and driving enhancements.

• Developing, documenting, and socializing security configuration specifications, engineering diagrams, whitepapers, and other technical resources.

• Maintain strong relationships with Microsoft and other security technology vendors to stay ahead of changes that impact the security posture of Microsoft Cloud Platforms.

• Collaborating on the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of identity and privileged identity security-related technologies.

• Aligning technologies with company strategy and security policies while conducting research on emerging technologies to enhance enterprise operations.

The Microsoft Cloud Security Sr IT Security Engineer position is well-suited for you if you:

• Have a strong understanding of Microsoft Cloud Platforms and associated technologies such as Entra, Defender, Purview, and InTune.

• Are proficient in systems and network administration and understand security concepts, practices, and procedures, information security technologies (e.g., virus detection, firewall, content filtering, VPNs, IDS/IPS)

• Are knowledgeable of Information security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements to continue optimizing processes

• Have a strong understanding of Security and Infrastructure automation technologies.

• Understand and translate complex technology and security information for various audiences.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Business or related field or equivalent professional experience.

• At least one of the following certifications is required: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer, Microsoft Security Compliance and Identity certifications, or equivalent.

• 5+ years of experience in information security, including at least 2 years of hands-on Microsoft cloud security engineering experience

• Willingness to work Eastern Standard (EST) business hours

• Cloud service knowledge and experience with common cloud services (Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, or Software as a Service).
