What you’ll do

Network Development provides the ‘shop window’ and the foundations for our brand, our products and our services. As the Senior Manager, responsible for network development, you will be responsible for ensuring that we have network representation fit for both today and the future, whilst creating an environment that reduces costs and maximises profit. Drawing on your experience and background, you will use your innovative and strategic approach to enable our commercial operations to flourish and provide great experience for customers.

Your key deliverables will include:

  • Leadership of a small but highly effective network development team
  • Review, update and implement our partner and representation strategy (right partner, location and facility)
  • Be the senior point of contact for VCC (Sweden), UK colleagues and network investor partners for network development related activity
  • Ownership and oversight of network development processes and procedures
  • Network contractual framework responsibility, in conjunction with UK legal
  • Develop and test new formats and routes to market, aligned to the UK business model
  • Overarching responsibility for our Retailer standards and audit programme, headlease and property management and UK governance meetings
  • Accurate management and forecasting of the Network Development budget

  • Supports the Network Development & Aftersales Director to develop and deliver the annual plan and budget.
  • Develops and delivers the strategic representation plan
  • Develops and assess new business opportunities, initiatives and models.
  • Develops and maintains great relationships with stakeholders, retailers, customers and relevant industry bodies and regulatory bodies
  • Effectively manages and leads their business area to ensure VCUK delivers against the annual plan and budget.
  • Sets high standards and performance goals aligned with the VCUK’s objectives and leads others to achieve these goals.
  • Ensures that their business area is delivering on all strategic objectives
  • Manage the resources available to ensure keep within cost budgets.
  • Fosters a change environment and ensures direct reports are focused on implementing change that will deliver tangible business results / improvements.
  • Continuous review of processing efficiency and control effectiveness, ensuring maximum efficiencies are delivered within an effective minimum control framework.
  • Continually evaluates the effectiveness of the function and seeks to improve. 
  • Provides leading-edge products and services ensuring that VCUK retains its competitive edge as a premium service provider.
  • Experience of communicating and negotiating at the most senior levels.
  • The ability to lead and work in a multi-skilled diverse team and have an agile attitude. 
  • Purpose driven leader with a strong desire to deliver market leading solutions in the automotive sector.
  • Solid understanding of the legal frameworks governing the NSC/OEM relationship with their network partners
  • Situational adaptability in an environment with shifting demands
  • A collaborative leader, with experience in building relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong familiarity with sales and aftersales in an automotive environment.
