Job Title: National Police Chiefs’ Council – Office AssistantSalary: The starting salary is £30,450, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.The salary is broken down as £27,609 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £29,676 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.Location: The NPCC office is based at 50 Broadway, London, SW1H 0BL. NPCC BUSINESS SUPPPORT TEAMBusiness Support maintains the logistics for the delivery of strategic meetings including Chief Constables Council, Regional Chiefs and the newly formed Strategic Planning and Coordination Board. Other responsibilities include supporting the remote workforce for all IT and equipment, HR support, finance, governance assurance, information management and data protection protocols, and host force management duties. The team also work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the NPCC is able to support Chief Officers in the constantly evolving areas of national policing.THE ROLETo provide an efficient and professional reception service and administrative support to the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) Strategic Hub. The post holder will be the first point of contact to the NPCC and must present a professional, efficient and effective manner to maintain the image and reputation of the organisation.The post holder will be office based and will assist with the organisation and administration of meetings, including managing room bookings and requirements (such as audio-visual, catering, printing etc). They will also provide facilities support to the NPCC.At all times they will promote the highest standards of integrity, professional conduct and equality.The successful candidate would need to have the following experiences and skills:
- IT skills – Confident with Microsoft Office 365 packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Lists, Planner, and SharePoint and basis office equipment e.g. multi-functional devices (MFD’s), printers, scanners etc.
- Organisation skills – Able to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm and professional in a busy working environment.
- Experience of working in a reception and/or administrative support role within an office environment (including maintaining accurate records, filing, administering meetings and processing mail).
- Experience of professionally challenging assertively when required.
- The post holder must have proven experience of good customer service skills and the ability to communicate in a polite and professional manner at all times.
