The new model sees the city divided into 13 Neighbourhoods, each led by a Neighbourhood Manager who will be working in one of these areas.As the Neighbour Officer you will play a key role in supporting the Neighbourhood Managers to coordinate and facilitate cross-functional teams focused on improving local outcomes and resident satisfaction across Neighbourhood areas.This is an exciting opportunity to help drive transformative change as part of the biggest shake-up in how Council services are provided and commissioned in over a decade.What you’ll do:

  • Design and lead projects focused on improving local outcomes and resident satisfaction for each neighbourhood area
  • Develop effective partner relationships to support the delivery of service objectives, maintain existing contracts with providers, and create new ways of working that improve service delivery
  • Promote quality improvements across the neighbourhood areas, including identifying solutions to issues/complaints and supporting community engagement
  • Support the collection of data and community insights to shape and improve local services and report on key performance indicators
  • Be a point of escalation for members and stakeholders concerning key challenges and opportunities within designated neighbourhood areas.

What you’ll need:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with experience in engaging members of the community
  • Experience working alongside a range of key stakeholders effectively, including residents and local communities
  • Strong understanding of current approaches to community activation and engagement
  • Experience with committees and democratic processes and local authority standing orders process
  • Experience managing projects or workstreams and monitoring performance against milestones and deadlines
  • Experience working confidently with data when making decisions.
