The Wildlife Trust BCN are recruiting for an officer to engage with visitors across the Nene
Valley Special Protection Area through site visits, running events and online & social
media promotion to help reduce the impact of bird disturbance by human activity.
The role will
sit in the Wider Countryside team but work closely with the Northants Communities &
Education and Reserves teams and engage with visitors across the SPA through site visits,
running events and online & social media promotion. The work will need to be undertaken at
peak times for visitors so some weekend work will be required.
A particular focus will be to
reduce disturbance by dogs on wintering wildfowl, working closely with the Nene Rivers Trust’s
‘Nene Valley Woofs’ project.
The role could be full time (37.5 hours) or part time (15-22.5
hours – with potential for two part time staff) with regular early mornings, evenings and up to
2 weekends a month.
