Overview of roleWe are Speedibake, a Proud Yorkshire Bakery. Established in 1984 we are one of the market leaders in the supply of frozen baked goods and are part of Associated British Foods plc, which is a £17.0bn FTSE 100 company.This is a fantastic opportunity for NPD Technologist to join Speedibake.Key Accountabilities·To be fully conversant with our health and safety operating practices
·Responsible for NPD customer account management for given accounts.
·Responsible for managing EPD and NPD projects from concept through to launch
·Responsible for critical path generation, concept development, benchmarking, internal product sampling and preparation of customer samples/submission forms, scale up to factory, trial and launch, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
·Responsible for costing generation, ensuring projects are delivered in full to the desired cost
·Work closely with Senior packaging technologist to ensure packaging strategies are considered in NPD projects and packaging in line with customer requirements are delivered on time as part of the NPD process
·Work cross functionally to ensure the key stakeholders from supply chain, operations, technical, sales and engineering are aware of new concepts and have inputted into the development process at each stage.
·Highlight, when necessary, issues with project timelines mean a project is behind or likely to miss critical path both internally and externally
·Lead customer meetings and presentations in line with NPD procedures
·Generation and supply of all NPD documentation and paperwork as required by customer or internal NPD process
·Support preparations and delivery of successful customer meetings and presentations
·Partake and support in any other NPD activity or task as and when required
·Pro-actively engage with the factory and understand the site’s capabilities and processesThe Right PersonStrong enthusiasm and passion for new product development, especially in baked goods
A keen interest in trends and product innovation
2+ years working within NPD from concept to launch desirable
Ability to work within a fast paced manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft office systems (excel, outlook etc)
Strong time management and organisational skills
UK Driving licence
