The incumbent will need to employ project management skills to lead the successful implementation of the multimodal offering of courses and programs being created by the Educational Support and Digital Innovations Team. The successful candidate will work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team comprised of academics (subject matter experts), multimedia designers and instructional design assistants and provided support and mentorship from the manager of ESDI along with the Associate Dean. The online course developer will project lead the development of multiple ongoing digital courses/projects for online, in-person and hybrid courses and will work with the subject matter expert to employ instructional design best practices to chunk and layout content for courses within the faculty and to support external partners. All work conducted will be done using educational and learning theories and sound pedagogical judgment. The incumbent will support, and review produced elements of the storyboards.QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:Education:· A Bachelor’s degree related to education, health science, or in a related field.Experience:· 3-5 years of experience as an instructional designer, course developer, or experience in curriculum development· 3-5 years of experience leading and collaborating in group meetings, making important decisions, and maximizing support staff· Strong understanding of instructional design principles and different educational theories· Meet deadlines in a fast-moving and high-pressure environment· A keen eye for detail and the ability to follow department/institution guidelines· Effective completion of all assigned tasks related to online module builds· Strong written and verbal communication skills· Motivation to maintain and improve course development standards· Good organizational skills that support the rest of the team· Strong understanding of learning objectives and outcomes to create formative assessments and proper sectioning of online courses and digital deliverables.· Strong leadership skills with a determination to achieve and succeed in the roleWhat’s In it for you?· An opportunity to have an impact with a post-secondary institution, poised to do great things.· Diverse, hard-working, committed team of people who care about each other.· Tools and technology that will allow you to succeed at your job.· Amazing perks and the opportunity to work within a highly supportive team.At Humber College we don’t just accept difference — we celebrate it!
