Job Title: Operational Support Team MO2Salary: The starting salary is £48,943, which includes allowances totalling £2,928 and a 12.5% shift disturbance allowance.The salary is broken down as £42,203 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £47,668. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928, a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000 and a 12.5% shift disturbance allowance.Location: Spring Gardens VauxhallThe MO2 Operational Support Team provides Targeted Interception (TI) of communications support to the MPS.Targeted Intercept provides intelligence against all MPS threat areas, which leads to significant operational results. It also helps build strategic and thematic intelligence which enhances MPS knowledge and understanding of Serious and Organised Crime.Working within the Operational Support Team function of the Sensitive Intelligence Unit candidates will be responsible for the assessment, development and management of sensitive intelligence as part of ongoing proactive operations. This includes the effective management of risk for the benefit of the MPS and other law enforcement agencies, including matters relating to firearms and threats to life.Our staff are mission-focused and flexible to meet the needs of their operations. Criminals are unpredictable, and they rarely work 9-5. To cover this, the team runs a shift rota and has officers in the office 365 days per year. There is a requirement for shift working and an ability to work long hours often at short notice.MO2 are now looking for experienced Case Officers who have previously worked within TI and have passed National Crime Agency Course (IPT – Incept Training Programme) or equivalent. Candidates are expected to have worked within TI arena and have knowledge of TI, dissemination of sensitive intelligence and Sensitive Criminal Justice briefings.Key responsibilities

Currently based at Spring Gardens but the NCA are in negotiations to move to premises at Stratford in mid- 2025.There are at present (1) vacancy however posting will not be before vetting has been concluded which includes NCA enhanced DV and MPS DV vetting. VettingThis post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties.
