Please note that:RONA Workplace Policy establishes that associates need to have a reliable transportation to and from our Ditribution center located in Boisbriand (Quebec), to come to the office on a regular basis.We require all our head office associates to be proficient in French, spoken and written.Our expectationsUnder the supervision of the DDC Site Director, the Operations Manager oversees daily management of operations (delivery), which involves efficient product flow. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing planned production volume and re-evaluating resources throughout the day as working conditions change to meet customer demand. The Operations Manager strives to meet or exceed key performance indicator targets despite these fluctuating demands, resolves problems and is responsible for communicating business objectives and daily workload plans.Your role

  • Determine workload (production volume) and monitor inventory movements in the facility frequently throughout the day;
  • Use planning matrix to assess staffing requirements to meet daily, weekly and monthly volume fluctuations;
  • Communicate effectively with management team regarding business objectives, safety issues, current problems, upcoming events and daily requests;
  • Instill a culture of safety in the workplace;
  • Identify and escalate safety issues to the appropriate party for resolution;
  • Ensure supervisors adopt the culture and respect expectations;
  • Communicate and collaborate with human resources business partner in hiring staff (seasonal and full-time team);
  • Mentor supervisors and monitor and enhance their performance;
  • Ensure the success of their team; meet or exceed key performance indicators, safety, performance and budget targets;
  • Participate in succession planning;
  • Report key performance indicators and financial results to management and the company;
  • Monitor and determine labor budgets for all assigned areas
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to their implementation or to the implementation of new processes launched by the Supply chain (customer-focused distribution);
  • Accelerate receiving, picking and shipping of priority products;
  • Ensure cross-training is completed and updated;
  • Inspect the physical condition of the distribution center and equipment on a daily basis, and carry out maintenance and repairs as required;
  • Promote and develop a flexible working environment with the direct distribution center;
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the General Site Manager.

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive management experience in a high-volume distribution center;
  • Ability to build and lead a high-performance team;
  • Ability to build relationships and gain the confidence of others;
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization;
  • Experience working with integrated warehouse management system (WMS) and transportation management system (asset);
  • Ability to effectively lead projects from inspection to implementation;
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions based on limited information and changing conditions;
  • Analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills for identifying and creatively solving complex problems;
  • Strong computer skills; experience with software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and WMS;
  • Excellent sense of priorities and time management;
  • Proven track record of compliance with safety requirements; ability to establish a safety culture among subordinates and peers.
