Join our team, and help recognize a healthy future for your career and for all Canadians.Why this role is important?We are hiring an Overnight Pharmacist for Central Pharmacy Services Vial in Mississauga.Reporting to the Production Team Lead, the Pharmacist will support the overall operations of the Pharmacy, including dispensing medication, ensuring the prepared prescriptions are accurate and prepared in a timely manner, and assisting in the maintenance of the dispensary.What You’ll DoPractice within federal/provincial, regulatory/legal requirements, provincial Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and Policies, demonstrating professional integrity and acting to uphold a high level of professional standard of practiceEnsure all privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent managementConduct product verification on all prescriptions prepared to ensure accuracy and completeness of all prescription orders prior to deliveryMaintain all records required in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policy, i.e. customer records, narcotic and controlled drug recordsReview and maintain Workflow Queues on a regular basisAssist with prescription fulfillment, as requiredOperate and maintain the prescription automation equipment used to generate and produce prescriptions for client pharmaciesEnsure that the machines have the correct and necessary supply of medication within the dispensing unit to prepare vialsClean and maintain the equipment when necessary to ensure optimal performanceSupport inventory management and ensure proper stock levelsEnsure all requirements for documentation and control of substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Regulations are met and reporting to Health Canada and regulatory bodies as necessary is completedEnsure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of all inventory including those that require special handling and trainingEnsure all Pharmacy team members are in compliance with internal policiesIdentify and report business-building opportunities, both internally and externally, and action where appropriateReport and escalate Pharmacy Incident for medication or privacy incidents (actual, and near-misses)Ensure pharmacy team works cohesively to complete necessary activitiesSupport ongoing training for all Pharmacy team membersWhat You’ll NeedValid license to practice in the provinceA minimum of 1 year of continuous work experience as a Registered Pharmacist in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital or Retail)Experience with high-volume filling environments an assetEffective written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsAttention to detailTeam player and leadership skillsMust be able to complete work with minimum supervisionWhy work at Shoppers Drug Mart?Acting as consultants, supporting internal customers and the Associate-Owners, you will get experience unique to the retail industry while working for an award-winning national brand.
