Permanent, Full timeRoyal Mail FarringdonRoyal Mail is looking to add a Senior Manager to our Operations Strategy & Design team.About the roleAs a Senior Manager you will support the definition of the operational strategy for 5+ years with the Director of Operations Strategy & Design in collaboration with key stakeholders in Operations.You will also:

  • Own the evolving Ops Target Operating Model and ensures all change activity is aligned to the corporate direction of Royal Mail UK.
  • Deputise for the Director of Operations Strategy & Design on regular governance boards, and chair operations design boards as a delegate where necessary.
  • Integrate design solutions across the RM pipeline including collection, processing, network, and delivery for all product streams including letters, flats and packets in both the manual and automated streams.
  • Establish and maintain benchmark information about other postal operators including operational and technological developments, assessing their impact and relevance to Royal Mail.
  • Be a trusted and reliable interface between the Operations Strategy & Design team and the wider business, building a strong internal network and acting as a standard bearer to enhance the reputation of the team.
  • Maintain a roadmap of current and proposed design changes and ensure integrity of the current and future operational design.
  • Maintain workflow across whole team and ensure that communications / deliverables out of the team are coherent, completed to a high standard and will have the appropriate impact with stakeholders up to the highest level.

About youFor this role you must have experience of leading strategic planning in a large corporate or consulting context within a logistics or supply chain environment.You also:

  • Are a strategic thinker able interact well at all levels of the organization from PLC board to front line.
  • Have exceptional knowledge of design principles, modelling techniques & tools, programme management processes and continuous improvement
  • Have the ability to manage activities and budgets related to relationships with multiple key stakeholders
  • Can deliver through ambiguity, working in a matrix structure and take a broad pipeline view to challenges
  • Strive to create an impact with insight through being ‘outcome’ rather than ‘input’ focused
  • Have a strong understanding of commercial and regulatory objectives and complexities – able to take a balanced view across competing priorities
  • Can simultaneously manage a complex set of initiatives in various phases of development

The role will be a mix of office and home working with 2-3 days in Farringdon each week. Some travel to other sites will also be necessary (1-2 days per month).Extra Benefits
