Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Paint Application Technician at our 591 Arvin facility.Job Summary & Reporting Structure:Reporting to the Paint Technical Supervisor, the role of Paint Application Technician is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and improving paint application processes. In addition, they will be directly accountable for robot programming, assist in new program trials and the optimization of the painting capability.Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain ABB robot programs and adjust to improve quality of robot paint process.
  • Perform programming, software maintenance, and electrical integration activities for paint line. Assist with mechanical/electrical maintenance.
  • Assist with program launches through APQP, process trials, set up, rack design and process changes to ensure launch occurs on time and at target efficiencies
  • Maintain Access database for robot programs.
  • Respond to downtime incidents and perform checks and activities to monitor and maintain process control on the paint line.
  • Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams to support the company wide efforts to improve production measurables (i.e.: first-time yield rates and profitability).
  • Establish standards, develop procedures, and maintain checklists for data entry
  • Develop tracking records to monitor effectiveness of on-going programs.
  • Maintain SPC on selected / identified processes.
  • Assist maintenance personnel and paint representatives to optimize the capability of painting manufacturing product quality.
  • In conjunction with the Lead Process Engineer, conduct trials on new technology, record results, make recommendations on its use and implement if viable.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:Education Required: Post Secondary Education in an applicable field. (Electromechanical, Automation, Mechanical Engineering)Training Required: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, Design of Experiments, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Paint Process & Application Automation Controls PLCSkills Required: Demonstrated experience in the operation and programming of robotics, Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, Demonstrated working knowledge of CAD softwareExperience: Experience with paint a major asset, Demonstrated knowledge of plastic and metal manufacturing and handling an asset, Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.Tiercon Corp. is proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunity employer as set out in the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
