Job Description:We are recruiting for a Team Lead, Payroll to join a rapidly growing global organization that is going through exciting organizational and global systems transformation.The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for overseeing payroll processing operations within a global shared services environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance with local jurisdictions, and efficiency. This role requires a technologically savvy individual who can leverage payroll automation/integrations, digital tools, and data analytics and reporting to optimize processes. The Payroll Team Lead will supervise and support the Shared Services Payroll and HR Administration team on delivering their services as per the SLAs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance payroll service delivery.This role will be responsible for processing payroll for certain pay groups, managing escalations, KPI reporting; and adhering to company policy, regulations and service standards. Aside from the daily operations, a large scope of this role will work on Special Projects; identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices, ADP/Payroll upgrades and integrations, Shared service rollout to various countries , Automation solutions, and other special projects as needed.Key Details:

  • Contract Position: 1 year contract, with potential for extension/ conversion to permanent
  • Reports to: Global Payroll Manager, Shared Services
  • Flexible to travel – must be able to travel for work to (i.e. US, Europe, Australia, Asia)
  • Flexible to work outside of standard EST working hours to support projects in other regions
  • Hybrid Working Model

Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for end-to-end payroll processing, including integrations /feeds in and out of the payroll system (i.e. ADP or equivalent)
  • Maintain confidentiality with regards to employee relations and organizational changes, security of information, data, and files
  • Maintain effective working relationships with the direct team and maintains strong relationships with key members of the Business Units
  • Perform and oversee audits between HRIS System and Payroll system
  • Provide back-up for key tasks performed by the team
  • Lead payroll for the following jurisdictions by ensuring accurate payroll processing, tax set-ups and compliance: Canada and USA
  • Process payroll for multiple payroll groups for multiple business units.
  • Lead the year-end government filings, and year end Audit for payroll activities
  • Ensure that all remittances, deductions and dues have been handled in time and according to jurisdictions within SSC’s payroll scope.
  • Keep up to date with technical expertise and knowledge in existing and emerging payroll trends, legal, regulatory or governmental requirements applicable to (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, tax matters, 401(k) and other benefit deductions)
  • Assist with accounting functions supporting the general ledger and reconciliations
  • Responsible for providing audit requests (i.e. supporting documentation & reports)
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and reconciliations of payroll related transactions
  • Drive technology-driven improvements and automation tools to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Oversee payroll integrations with HR, Finance, and IT systems in a shared services setup.

Qualifications:Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 + years in a Team Lead/Supervisor capacity.
  • Minimum 5 + years working in progressive end to end payroll processing role
  • Experience working in a Shared Service Center/Model.
  • Strives in global organizations undergoing change and rapid growth.
  • Experience leading and executing on a variety of special projects and initiatives
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes and relevant legislation, source deduction and government remittance procedures in both Canada and US legislation.
  • Hands-on experience with various payroll platforms (ADP or equivalent)
  • Experience working effectively in a cross functional, multiple countries’ jurisdictions.
  • Experience and Proficient in ERP/HCM/HRIS systems ( Oracle Fusion), ADP /Other payroll platforms
  • Service request management platform; workflows and reporting (i.e. ServiceNow)
  • Documentation (SOP, Process flow mapping, responsibility matrix, transition & training plans etc.)

  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools & capabilities (i.e. Power BI, ADP)
  • Strong understanding of Accounting, Audit & Reporting impacts of payroll transactions
  • Continuous process improvement & learning DNA
  • Self-starter, and takes ownership and accountability
  • Can work both independently and collaboratively across various functional teams
  • Proven time management, planning, organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a complex business environment with competing priorities
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and root cause analysis
  • Proven success in identifying and executing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail, while capturing holistic views
  • Ability to present and articulate issues and recommendations to Sr. Management

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in Human Resources/Payroll or related field
  • Canadian payroll certification or equivalent
