Perception Engineer Intern

The Anduril Imaging team develops cutting edge computer vision and AI algorithms for use with various IR imaging systems. Most notably our WISP hemispherical imaging system provides counter UAS and counter intrusion capabilities for aerial, land, and sea based targets. Anduril Imaging is looking for a summer intern to work with the perception team for the year 2025. Over the course of your internship, you will develop and implement a system to catalog and analyze our recorded data, allowing the team to quantify performance more accurately, determine the development direction of new and improved computer vision and machine learning algorithms, and triage hardware defects.

Responsibilities

• Work with a mentor to and implement an application that catalogs and searches through a database of recorded imagery and metadata from various sensors
• Collaborate closely with other experts on the team, including perception, tracking & estimation, and systems engineers, to deliver cutting-edge, integrated imaging systems.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelors or advanced degree in a relevant field, including Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics (not exhaustive)
• Approaching Junior year or beyond at the time of the internship and Must be returning to school at the end of this internship to continue academic studies.
• Understanding of software development patterns and principles
• Strong problem solving skills
• Python programming ability
• Basic knowledge of SQL
• Full stack web development for small scale applications
• U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or coursework involving machine learning or computer vision systems
• C++ programming experience
• Experience with the Nix package management system

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
