You will be part of the larger pharmacy department strategy to deliver safe medicines for patients by ensuring the appropriate monitoring and defect reporting is carried out.It is an exciting opportunity to be part of both a small Quality Assurance team, with an opportunity to integrate with our larger sterile production teams, bringing a good variety of both laboratory and clean room work as we expand our services.Attached you will find the person specification document which provides more detail about the essential and desirable skills and experience needed for this role. You will also help with reporting to other manufacturers and suppliers over any defective medicines we receive from themLab work will take around half of your time; for the remaining time you will be based in one of the manufacturing services, undertaking support tasks and preparing sterile injectable medicines under supervision.The Quality Assurance lab supports our 5 pharmacy manufacturing services, preparing specialist sterile medicines for some of the most complex patients in the hospital, each with dedicated clean room facilities. The services together employ around 60 staff and produce 150,000 doses per year.If youre practically minded, organised and with an eye for detail, enjoy taking responsibility for your own work and being part of a team, this post is ideally suited for you. No specific qualification is needed, as full training and competency assessment will be given for all parts of the role; this includes studying to achieve Level 2 Science Manufacturing Process Operative the course is work-based with some self-directed learning and requires maths and written English ability.All Pharmacy Support Workers take part in the Saturday morning, Bank Holiday and extended hours rotas. Part time working will be considered.
