We welcome applications from all qualified candidates and encourages Indigenous persons, visible minorities, and persons with a disability to self-declare when submitting their applications.Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Environment, working with other departmental staff and interdepartmental staff, the incumbent reviews and updates development application statuses, processes applications to lease or purchase municipal lands, drafts and processes agreements pertaining to municipal land transactions, and maintenance and upgrading of the lease/lands sales database. The incumbent provides support in research and compilation of background information relating to land issues and municipal land administration, in accordance with the Land Administration By-Law, Zoning By-law, or relevant legislation, coordinates accounting for departmental projects, and prepares the quarterly land sale and development costing reports.The position requires a post secondary diploma from a technical land administration program or paralegal program and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a legal environment or equivalent. The incumbent will have strong professional knowledge of Municipal and Territorial legislation relating to land administration, land-use planning and development, as well as, strong records management and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required and knowledge of ESRI GIS Product Suite is considered an asset.The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive annual salary range of $79,965.20 to $95,558.40, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension plan, and monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450.
