We support clients decarbonise their energy, their buildings and their transport operations, and you will play a key part in this mission by advising clients on net zero strategies and initiatives to support their decarbonisation agendas.The role will be part of Plan Zero Consulting’s Leadership Team and be focused on building client relationships and project opportunities across relevant sectors, As a head of this function, you will lead a pool of Senior Managers, Consultants and Analysts to support you in scoping and delivering decarbonisation advisory engagement for clients, mostly focused on solutions targeted at the built environment Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic candidate to lead our Corporate Compliance and ESG Reporting function. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing and expanding our service offerings, as well as positioning Mitie as a leader in corporate compliance and ESG topics.Main Duties

  • Grow Existing Offerings: Enhance and expand current services, including ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme), SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting), and Scope 3 emissions reporting.
  • Develop New Offerings: Introduce and implement new services related to CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), ISSB (International Sustainability Standards Board), CRP (Carbon Reduction Plan) and other emerging ESG and compliance reporting requirements.
  • P&L Responsibility: be accountable for the team’s financial performance, ensuring achievement of revenue and margin targets
  • Business Growth: Drive and be accountable for the growth of this division by bringing in new clients and penetrating existing Mitie clients with corporate compliance solutions. towards achieving £1 million in consulting revenue, leveraging your expertise and network.
  • Ambassador Role: Serve as an internal and external ambassador for Mitie on corporate compliance and ESG issues, building strong relationships with clients, industry bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Team Development: Shape and develop the team to meet future needs, ensuring a high level of expertise and service delivery in all areas of corporate compliance and ESG reporting, including hiring a team of top talent to support the growth ambitions

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a related field (e.g. Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Sustainability)
  • Proven experience in delivering corporate compliance, ESG reporting, or related fields for major clients.
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging reporting standards, including ESOS, SECR, Scope 3, CSRD, ISSB, and TCFD.
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving business growth and developing new service offerings.
  • Proven ability to take accountability and focus on delivering results
  • Ability to ability to think strategically and deliver tactically, with a focus on execution rigor to get things done
  • Strong business, financial and commercial acumen
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to act as an ambassador for the company.
