Principal Industrial DesignerHybrid working model with 3-4 days per week onsite in Cheltenham.

Find out more below!Role OverviewYou will combine design creativity with strong technical expertise to push boundaries, deliver disruptive innovations, and bring novel ideas to market. Successfully balancing design thinking, business acumen, and manufacturing knowledge, working both independently and leading cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research to identify user needs, market trends, and opportunities for innovation.

• Generate creative concepts and ideas for new products or improvements to existing products.

• Develop prototypes and conduct user testing to validate innovative design concepts.

• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to vet and bring innovative designs to market.

• Lead projects from front-end exploration to market readiness, ensuring alignment with business strategies and cross-functional teams.

• Manage the full design process, from concept ideation, prototyping, and development to final execution.

• Balance conflicting project requirements and overcome ambiguity to deliver impactful design outcomes.

• Stay up-to-date on emerging trends, technologies and materials that could enable product innovations.

Skills/Requirements

• Preferably a relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.

• Proven extensive experience in in-house Industrial Design. Deep knowledge of the end-to-end process, from research, strategy, opportunity identification and ideation, all the way to design for manufacture.

• Energetic, curious, thorough, challenges conventions and is inspiring in and out of Industrial Design.

• Strong creative problem-solving and ideation skills, with the proven create design strategies to envision the future possibilities and align other functions.

• Experience with design thinking and other innovation methodologies.

• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and emerging technologies.

• Industry leading design skills. With proven ability work hands in traditional and emerging design tools.

• Experience in CMF definition and technical execution.

• Strong visualization and communication skills to articulate innovative concepts effectively.
