Using modern cloud-based technology we deliver sustainable products and services for the future.The OpportunityWe are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our highly talented Infrastructure & Operations team. Working within the NES Technology Service (NTS) the successful candidate will pay a key role in shaping how Infrastructure & Operations services are delivered, and in doing so enable delivery of the NES Strategy 2023-2026 and assist NTS in our contribution to delivering against the Scottish Government Digital Health and Care Strategy and Data Strategy.NTS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal lead to lead the Service Management team, and to further develop and improve on the existing processes within the Infrastructure & Operations remit.Key areas within the remit of the successful candidate will be IT Service Management, including Key performance reporting, the NTS Service Desk, Business Operations and the ongoing implementation of ITIL based methodology.It is anticipated that upon the completion of the ongoing NTS Organisational Change process, that the successful candidate will head up a team of upwards of 15 individuals.Do you enjoy playing a leadership role in multi-disciplinary teams to bring technology products from inception to production and sustained operation?Do you have a keen interest in IT Service Management techniques with a proven track record in applying them?Do you want to play a key role in leading the development of high-quality Infrastructure & Operations services?Do you have a passion to provide excellent customer service in a modern and agile way?Do you enjoy working at pace and being adaptive to an ever-changing environment?As a senior colleague within the Infrastructure & Operations business unit, you will have the opportunity to provide direction and management of our Service Management team, with a focus on excellence and nurturing clear career development pathways, your work will directly influence the development of impactful technology services for health and care professionals, and the general public.Does this sound like you?What We Love to SeePrincipal Leads in Infrastructure & Operations require a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders in order to participate in the planning and delivery of defined strategies
  • IT Service Management experience, including reporting
  • Change Management experience
  • Highly experienced in leading teams to deliver Microsoft 365 solutions and services
  • Experience of building relationships across NHS Scotland and operating on a national level. Collaborating on national solutions and working with colleagues in other boards to promote single solutions, and ways of working
  • Highly effective at identifying and implementing process improvements and building successful teams through understanding team styles and influencing and motivating team members
  • Proven experience of coaching, leading and managing Service Desk colleagues
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
  • Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex technical information and language simple for diverse senior internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
  • Line management and coaching/mentoring experience
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads and that of others, and to meet strict deadlines
