BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.Jansen’s construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. To find out more about Potash and the Jansen project, .PurposeThe Principal Project Management Office (PMO) role provides integration, performance monitoring and governance across the Jansen Program. This includes the establishment and delivery of program-wide strategies and processes to deliver and govern the Jansen key value drivers. They actively contribute to the coordination of the Value Optimisation (VO) process and routines to ensure successful value creation, preservation and best for business decision making.About the RoleTo be successful in this role, you will:
- Deliver the Value Optimisation program by identifying, assessing and monitoring delivery of the VOs.
- Maintain integrity of project value optimization data and integrity of key metrics data/KPIs.
- Analyze trusted data sources to identify options to optimize value and inform decision making related to project performance and value optimization.
- Provide oversight of the project governance framework, including periodic framework review and improvement.
- Coordinate key PMO routines (committees) to ensure effective and timely decision making.
- Manage interfaces to remove barriers/constraints from functions/stakeholders to ensure clarity for projects success.
- Contribute to the creation of an environment in which internal lessons learned, and external best practices are part of the operational processes.
- Actively challenge the status quo, including informing key stakeholders and driving continuous improvement of performance, recommending any changes required to identify capital efficiency initiatives and productivity improvements.
Work LocationThis position will be based in Saskatoon. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. - Significant experience in a stakeholder management role.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean Performance Improvement practices.
- Strong understanding of Project Management, including business and financial drivers related to projects.
- Superior interpersonal skills to interact and influence consultants and stakeholders.
- Ability to partner with others and foster relationships with stakeholders across all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate key issues to critical stakeholders.
