If you share a passion for performance, value a collegial and collaborative culture, and approach everything with the highest integrity, here’s an opportunity for you to invest your career at CPP Investments.Job DescriptionWe are recruiting for a Principal to join CPP Investments’ Real Assets Strategy Group (“RASG”), based in Toronto.RASG’s mandate is to drive value for Real Assets (“RA”) through top-down, portfolio-level initiatives, in partnership with RA’s investment groups (Real Estate, Infrastructure, Sustainable Energies, Listed Real Assets) globally. Ongoing areas of focus include:

• The development of relative value frameworks, analytics and insights to enable RA to allocate its capital optimally
• Working with investments teams to develop/implement their investment strategies and target portfolios
• Developing thematic views that support generation of novel investment ideas

The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director, Head of Real Assets Strategy and is expected to focus on developing RA’s top-down investment frameworks. The individual will initially support in-flight RASG projects but will soon be expected to lead projects, with support from senior team members, and generate ideas for future projects.Role-Specific Accountabilities

• Work in partnership with RA investment team members and stakeholders from across the Fund to develop portfolio-level analytics and insights that generate value for RA
• Manage complex projects, ensuring alignment amongst stakeholders (frequently senior investment team members)
• Produce presentations/memos to communicate actionable strategic recommendations internally
• Remain abreast of developments in real assets markets globally

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a strategy consulting or investing role
• Investment experience is not essential, but a keen interest in portfolio management, portfolio construction and an understanding of relevant asset classes is desirable
• Clear and proven communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
• Significant experience of process management and stakeholder management
• Demonstrated ability to work well in teams, leading when appropriate, and commitment to fostering an inclusive culture
• Superior interpersonal and relationship skills
