Central to this mission is our state-of-the-art design system: Nucleus which plays a critical role in delivering a seamless and cohesive design language across all our products and services.About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Engineer to join our Nucleus design system team. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with designers, developers, and the teams using the design system to create and maintain the core components, tools and guidelines to bring consistency, accessibility, and exceptional user experiences for our customers.Location: Predominantly home-based with occasional travel to WindsorWhat We Offer:Competitive Salary and Bonus PotentialEmployee Energy Allowance: 15% off the government price capPension SchemeHealthcare Plan: Company-fundedHoliday Allowance: 25 days plus public holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 additional daysFlexible Benefits: Including technology vouchers, electric car lease scheme, and travel insuranceKey Responsibilities:Design System Development: Grow and refine our design system, including components, documentation, and toolsUI Component Creation: Develop and maintain reusable UI components that adhere to our design guidelinesCode Quality: Ensure code is clean, efficient, and sustainable, following industry best practicesCode Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standardsTeam Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to understand project needs and translate them into design system featuresWhat We Need from You:Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworksUX/UI Principles: Strong understanding of user experience and interface design principlesAccessibility: Good understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)Web Components: Experience with technologies like Lit (preferred)Design Systems: Experience in using design systems to build interfaces (nice to have)Responsive Design: Knowledge of responsive web design practicesCI/CD: Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processesCompetencies:Problem-Solving: Creative and inventive in solving challengesCommunication: Strong communication skills and a collaborative spiritStrategic Analysis: Insightful in strategic system analysisIf you are passionate about frontend development and eager to make a significant impact, we would love to hear from you!Our commitment to diversityWe are proud to be recognised as a disability-confident employer.
