The Team: We are Data, a programme that comprises a number of agile, cross-functional teams between London, Sofia and Bangalore. We grow data platforms, build front-end data products and predictive models, and provide experimentation and technical analytics expertise for News UK. We focus on the capture, management and utilisation of customer, clickstream and content data, in order to drive growth and increase revenue for our users. Our users include the newsroom editors, marketing, advertising and product teams associated with our world-leading digital and print publications. From operations and infrastructure support to data technology and software development, we are committed to finding creative solutions to deliver essential news around the globe.

Your Role: We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our dynamic Data product team. As a Product Manager, you’ll dive into the exciting world of cutting-edge technology, collaborating with a diverse cross-functional team to shape the future of our Data Products.

From discovery to implementation, you’ll play a key role in managing our products within a squad, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with core stakeholders at the forefront of progress, sharing insights and future plans that contribute to our product’s success.

Day-to-day, you’ll be managing the product roadmap and strategy, engaging with technical teams, brand teams, and stakeholders to build a shared understanding of our products’ evolution and their broader business impact. Join us and be a key player in crafting the future of data technology!

Day to day you will: 

  • End to end management and delivery of products in line with business missions and product strategy, including managing the product roadmaps, prioritising requests and managing stakeholder relationships for our commercial and broadcasting data products
  • Support the business with capturing initiatives and aligning development dependencies in quarterly planning (PI Planning) processes
  • Review and present progress towards core KPIs and targets so that stakeholders are aware of the impact our data products are making.
  • Build relationships and align with stakeholders to gather data, insights and user feedback around product usability to drive future development
  • Use design thinking techniques and the latest technologies such as Gen AI to solve business problems
  • Work closely with our business analyst and engineering team to assemble well defined product requirements and technical solutions.
  • Support project managers to ensure successful and timely delivery of products that meet the highest quality standards.

What we’re looking for from you: 

  • Experience in a product management role, ideally in a data, analytics or commercial team
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive meaningful insights from data to drive continuous product improvement.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills
  • Able to deliver to tight timescales, to innovate and ‘think outside the box’ to deliver products and solutions that meet customers stated requirements
  • Understanding of data analysis, insight and visualisation
