As our name suggests, here in Digital Innovation, we’re a team building innovative products within the Mobile Banking App via a ‘More’ section – named the Digital Hub. We want to lead the way to a quicker and more competitive Nationwide, embracing new technology to meet member needs rapidly.Now that we’ve launched our Proof of Concept, we’re busy developing the technical capability and product features that will enable new product increments, release value and maximise learning.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.For this job you’ll spend at least two days per week, spend 40% of your working time, based at either our London, Threadneedle Street office, or our Swindon, Nationwide House or Northampton offices. You can also find out more about our approach to .If based from our Swindon or Northampton offices there is a need to attend our London, Threadneedle Street office once a week for collaboration.If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingAs our Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for developing features in to the Digital Hub, available for all our Mobile Banking App users.

  • Working closely with our Chief Product Owner, Designers, Researchers and Engineers, you’ll set a vision for the evolution of your roadmap, ensuring this aligns to the overall Digital hub vision.
  • Consider different approaches and solutions and summarise key considerations associated with these options (e.g. third party solutions or build in house)
  • Maintain your Feature Team Product backlog, including developing user stories and epics and prioritising based on value
  • Partner with design, product engineer and delivery teams to ensure deliverables are defined properly with appropriate acceptance criteria to ensure final products are of the right quality
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, where priorities change frequently
  • Work with key stakeholders and wider feature teams to manage dependencies and refine ways of working based on teama and user feedback

About youYou are highly self-motivated, innovative and challenging with a strong passion to deliver exceptional results.As a minimum requirement you will:

  • Have strong agile product delivery experience, using various methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) with experience of Product Ownership, or Project Manager role, working with Scrum teams or in an Agile environment
  • Be able to lead a team of technical experts, planning the evolution and roadmap for technical capability
  • Be able to take a strategic roadmap and translate into a roadmap of technical features, whilst also being proactive in identifying improvements you can make to the product and the backlog and developing greenfield solutions
  • Have proven your ability to own, prioritise and communicate the Product Backlog in clear and simple terms to the Scrum team and key stakeholders
  • Be confident in translating feature documentation into user stories for refinement with the engineering build team
  • Be able to identify dependencies between technical and product features and proactively manage these dependencies
