They will lead and develop the production team facility, achieving agreed departmental performance targets and adherence to all company standards and procedures, promoting effective communication by including the team and other functionsNow, if you were to come on board as our Production Manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Supervise all H&S Meetings and co-ordinate Risk Assessment
- Motivate and develop associates by setting individual and departmental objectives.
- Identify skills gaps, initiate, and provide appropriate training
- Able to generate the daily departmental production schedule plan and discuss it with the Cuisine Centre GM to optimise the effective and efficient running of the department
- Liaise, cross functionally, to resolve operating problems and drive improvement
- Manage materials usage, Investigate materials over usage, Waste, Departmental Stocks.
- Monitor and manage as appropriate, compliance with Compass policies, procedures and specifications (including Technical, HR, QA and Health & Safety policies)
- Plan all departmental labour usage to manage costs to agreed targets
- HACCP / GMP
- CCP (Critical Control Points): responsible for cooking, chilling process and metal detection system proper function and monitoring
- Production Processes: Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze production data and metrics to improve efficiency
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with food production – ovens, refrigerated trucks, etc.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards
- Market Awareness: Understanding of market trends and customer needs specific to your sector
- Team Collaboration: Experience in cross-functional collaboration with departments like logistics, quality assurance, and finance
- Budget Management: Experience managing budgets and optimizing production costs – this is where the business acumen part comes in

- Relevant experience in production management, cooking, food experience
- Proven successful leadership of a production line or team
- Advanced food safety, JHSC, 1st Aid, Driver’s Licence, Industry-Specific Knowledge
- Knowledge and experience of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Knowledge and experience of best management practice
- Strong leadership abilities to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across departments
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to address production challenges
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Product knowledge, strong excel skills, computer literacy
- Very good levels of numeracy & literacy
- Good level of computer literacy
