The Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology (FAST) at Humber College offers a dynamic and innovative learning environment, combining academic theory with hands-on practice in fields such as cybersecurity, engineering, embedded systems, and skilled trades. With cutting-edge facilities, applied research projects, and strong industry connections, FAST prepares students for careers in emerging technologies and complex systems. Faculty members play an integral role in advancing research and developing future leaders in technology and applied sciences.About the Role:The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Information and Communication Technology Cluster within the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology in such programs as the B. Eng. degree in Information Systems Engineering as well as other programs such as IT Solutions Graduate Certificate, Enterprise Software Development Graduate Certificate, Computer Programming and Analysis Advanced Diploma, and Computer Programming Diploma at the North campus and the IGS (International Graduate School) campus, and to get involved and support activities that contribute to Humber’s Centres of Innovation (COI). In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include curriculum development, lesson planning, assessing student progress and achievement, class management, contribution to program development, applied research, and other co-curricular activity involvement.The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member in a culturally diverse environment. The successful candidate will encourage student learning and have a desire to share their technical knowledge; be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: classroom management and evaluation; use of Humber’s LMS system – Blackboard, designing and developing courses and labs; The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations.QualificationsAbout You:

The successful candidate will have a M.Sc. (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline/field of study with a minimum of three years of industry experience in a relevant field. The successful candidate must have polytechnic post-secondary teaching experience, or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry.Experience/SkillsThe applicant must be well-versed in Data Analytics and Machine Learning techniques. Practical experience in programming languages such as C#, Python, and SQL, cloud platforms and data lake technologies such as Hadoop, Amazon Web Services, or Azure is required. The applicant should have extensive experience in managing large data sets. The incumbent must be familiar with the changes and trends in related industry, to plan, update and develop curriculum and hands-on practical training components, according to the needs and demands of related industry.In addition, the successful candidate will have engaging and effective teaching skills, demonstrated ability to coach and support students, demonstrated experience managing classroom dynamics, strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles, a student focused approach and a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player and be committed to a positive team culture.
