Faculty members play an integral role in advancing research and developing future leaders in technology and applied sciences.If you are interested in working in higher education and are looking to contribute to the largest Polytechnic in Ontario, as we shape the future of our students and communities, here is your opportunity to join our team.Job DetailsPosition Title: Program Coordinator, Environmental Control – FASTDuration of Need: This Coordinator position is a two (2) year termFaculty/Department: Faculty of Applied Sciences and TechnologyCampus/Location: North CampusProgram Coordinator Allowance: As per Article 14.03 A 3 of the Academic Collective Agreement, a Coordinator’s allowance will be paid in addition to the successful candidate’s salary as a Professor.What you will do:The Program Coordinator will contribute to: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber Polytechnic/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:EducationMaster’s Degree or Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.Experience and SkillsIndustry acumen and experience is required, along with specialized skills in the following areas:
- Curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management.
- The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member.
- In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement.
- The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber Polytechnic/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives.
- This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
- In addition, the successful candidate will be a full-time Professor from the Engineering program, with a minimum of two years of teaching experience; possess well-developed interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills; and determine ability in curriculum development and delivery.
