Together, these groups work to fulfill our mission to create knowledge, educate public health professionals and to advance the public’s health.PositionThe position is within the School of Public Health: Climate Change and Global Health Research Group (CCGH) led by Dr. Sherilee Harper. The Project Coordinator will work with a team of faculty, government representatives, and students as it relates to environmental science, climatology, public health, medicine, psychology, and social sciences. This position will focus on work involved in urgently accelerating climate mental health research and equity through global networks.Duties

  • Manage Canadian Mental Health Research Initiative (CMHRI) strategic planning using collaborative processes
  • Communicate and coordinate with international members of the Research Management Committee to develop and implement evidence-based advocacy campaigns related to CMHRI priorities.
  • Engage with a diverse range of external stakeholders and agencies at the local, provincial, national, and international levels to promote evidence-based policy and lead the development of policy briefs and knowledge translation material, including interactive online material.
  • Assist with the coordination of budgets and financials, ethics applications, and other research approvals.
  • Under the supervision of the CCGH program lead, develop online and in-person workshops for the think-tank/expert panel members (e.g. create mapping exercises and workshop materials, cross-sectional surveys of team members, and interview and focus groups of team members).
  • Use Excel, Access, STATA, R, and/or qualitative software to manage synthesis databases and assist with scientific manuscript preparation, editing, formatting, and submission.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, psychology, environmental studies, or other related field.
  • At least one year of experience in public health or community-engaged research coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to write scientific reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite, Zoom.
  • Ability to manage overlapping deadlines, prioritize tasks, and implement strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading research projects, including identifying research questions, planning research approaches, conducting research, and presenting results in scientific forums.
  • Experience running synthesis workshops.
  • Experience developing and maintaining research partnerships.
