Thanks to the contributions made by our faculty and staff, we are consistently recognized as the top medical school in Canada, and among the best in the world.As Project Manager, you will play an instrumental role in leading and coordinating IT project plans, including the implementation of a new IT platform across Temerty Medicine’s undergraduate medical education programs. Applying your exceptional project management and communication skills, along with your robust technical knowledge, you will also be responsible for continuous quality improvement, analyzing user needs and troubleshooting complex systems issues. Your proven track record of successfully leading projects from conception to completion in a fast paced, results-oriented environment will enable our academic success.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing project leadership and coordination including planning and implementing components of IT project plans and preparing project progress reports
  • Evaluating new technologies or new and modified businesses processes to determine enhancement requirements
  • Liaising with IT departments and clients regarding translation of business requirements into technical specifications
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting and testing highly complex systems and ensuring system changes are consistent with business processes
  • Developing and implementing database testing plans, scenarios and environments
  • Assessing and determining methodologies for data retrieval, manipulation and reporting.
  • Interpreting highly complex and technical data and handling complex and/or sensitive information.
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years providing IT project leadership and coordination preferably within an academic institution.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including scoping projects and directing the development cycle from conception to completion
  • Experience facilitating educational workshops and seminars.
  • Experience conducting needs assessments to identify and evaluate systems requirements and translate project plans
  • Experience monitoring project budgets and planning and estimating resources for projects
  • Demonstrated database management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, IT Project Management applications, and Learning Management Systems (i.e. Blackboard, Quercus, Elentra, etc.)
  • Superior oral and written communication, organizational, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage projects and relationships in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities and a complex stakeholder group
  • Ability to work well as either a leader or member of a project team
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to use tact, discretion, maintain confidentiality, flexibility and sound judgment
