Salary: £44,160
Contract: 12 month fixed-term contract (potential extension), Full time (35 hours per week)

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for effectively planning, overseeing the refurbishment, installation, and maintenance in the association’s housing units. The role involves a combination of project management, stakeholder communication, and technical oversight to ensure that kitchen and bathroom projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.More about the role

  • Responsible for preparing precise and timely valuations, ensuring that all completed works are correctly assessed and that financials reflect the actual progress on site
  • Oversee and coordinate all activities on site to ensure they are executed according to plan, budget, and timeline. This involves regular site visits, monitoring progress, managing resources, and addressing any issue that may arise to keep the project on track.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the contracts, ensuring that all payments are collected promptly as per the agreed terms. This includes follow ups, resolving payment issues and ensuring cash flow is maintained.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and opportunities that could impact the project. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities, ensuring that the project remains within budget, on schedule, and meets quality standards.
  • Assess and manage variations to the contract, including pricing changes that may arise due to scope adjustments or unforeseen circumstances. Ensure that all variations are documented.
  • Assist the Works Delivery Manager in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers. This includes regular updates on project progress, addressing any concerns, and resolving contractual issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Handle and resolve disputes that may arise during the project, whether with clients, subcontractors, or other stakeholders.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional tasks as needed to support the project and team. This could include a variety of duties outside of the core responsibilities, depending on the needs of the business and project.

More about you

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English (Grades A*-C)
  • Experience in Housing or Local Authority with an understanding of the sector (highly desirable)
  • Experience leading as a Project Manager on projects £1m+
  • You will have JCT contract experience or a strong understanding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Awareness of the estimating process and budget control (desirable, not essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proficient in IT, particularly in Microsoft Office 365
  • Commercially aware and comfortable liaising directly with all customers
