Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest-growing nature conservation organisations
and seeks to appoint a Project Officer (River Restoration and Wetlands).
The Project Officer will be responsible for the delivery of a suite of nature recovery network and
conservation projects as well as helping to develop and fundraise for new projects and
programmes in South Yorkshire. The post is based within a team developing exciting new
initiatives and there is considerable scope to develop partnership working and support other
nature recovery-based projects in the south region that are aligned to the Trust’s overall
Vision and Objectives.
The Project Officer will develop and deliver a range of river catchment based / landscape
scale, nature conservation initiatives that help increase the reach and connectivity of our
work and increase the overall impact for nature throughout the region. Particular
responsibilities will include the continued development, delivery and successful completion of
projects funded by the Environment Agency in the Torne, Dearne and Don River catchments. This
will involve developing opportunities and feasibility studies with partners, designing projects
which will require working with consultants where necessary as well as coordinating and
managing contractors during project delivery.
