Job Summary: Propane Delivery Driver/Yard AttendantAvenir Energy is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Propane Delivery Driver to join our team,
with additional responsibilities as a Yard Attendant as needed. As a Propane Delivery Driver, you will
primarily be responsible for delivering propane safely to residential and commercial customers, ensuring
the highest level of service in a safety-conscious environment. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining
and organizing the yard and warehouse areas, providing customer service, and supporting other
operational tasks when not on delivery. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a dynamic work
environment with a mix of driving, customer interaction, and hands-on yard responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Propane Delivery Driver:
- Load and unload truck with propane, adhering to all Company and Governmental regulations.
- Work with our dispatch teams to develop routes using your knowledge of geography, and the
- needs of our customers.
- Deliver product to both our residential and commercial customers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure Electronic and Daily Trips Log are up-to-date and submitted daily
- Report any potential hazards to dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with all company and government policies and regulations.
- Maintain Up-to-date understanding of TDG, WHIMIS and required trainings
- Actively participate in team meetings and discussions
- Work schedule will vary – need willingness to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends
- Other duties as required by supervisor.
Yard Attendant:
- Propane Handling: Fill propane cylinders and prepare tanks for customers with safety and
- precision.
- Inventory Management: Receive and organize deliveries; conduct monthly and weekly yard
- counts to maintain accurate inventory.
- Yard & Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse,
- outbuildings, and yard. Tasks include cutting grass, shoveling snow, and maintaining overall site
- aesthetics.
- Customer Support: Provide outstanding service to customers, ensuring a positive experience
- every time.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and participate in required training programs,
- including PTI 100-1 Propane Pump Attendant Certification, WHMIS, TDG, First Aid, and Forklift
- training.
- Team Collaboration: Attend monthly staff meetings and take on other duties as assigned by the
- Site Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s license with airbrake endorsement/Class 3 License DZ
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Clean CVOR / personal driving record within Company standards.
- Able to perform the physical demands of loading and unloading propane.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience delivering propane considered an asset.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of propane considered an asset.
- Ability to work various shifts.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
