Job description

Purchasing Manager required. My client is a leading Resin and Polymers manufacturer based in Wigan that supply products to a range of industries globally. They are looking to hire a Purchasing Manager to join their established team in Standish, Wigan. The ideal candidate will have a background in Manufacturing Purchasing, will have been employed in the Chemical industry and will be based within a commutable distance of Wigan.Purchasing Manager Position Overview

• Supervising two Purchasing staff and ensuring their duties are carried out effectively and to a high standard
• Taking responsibility for all purchasing department activities
• Arranging supplier meetings and negotiating on prices & Terms and Conditions
• Running the supplier quality assurance system
• Ensuring TDS & SDS documentation for new products are obtained from suppliers
• Monthly stock and Quarterly Purchasing reporting to senior management
• Writing SGP’s to ensure the purchasing department is kept up to date
• Providing quarterly costings to the financial department
• Chairing the monthly purchasing department meeting
• Securing new suppliers for both current and new products

Purchasing Manager Position Requirements

• 5 years previous experience in Purchasing / Supply Chain management
• A background / previous experience in the Chemical industry
• Chartered institute of procurement and supply status desirable
• An ability to handle and effectively manage multiple projects at once
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office
• Based within a commutable distance of Wigan
• Full Drivers Licence

Purchasing Manager Position Remuneration

• Salary £42,000 – £45,000 DOE
• Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm / 9am – 5pm
• 33 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
• BUPA Healthcare
• Pension
