Role: The Python Developer reports to the Senior Director, Workbench Solutions and works closely with 10 other professionals like Solution Architects, Functional Developers, DevOps and Business Analysts. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance, performance and documentation of the solution product and well for the configuration of the product on different projects.Below, is a brief description of the expected product the candidate will be working on (if product division position)Equisoft /ace is our proprietary rules engine and workflow solution that powers the business logic needs of our internal products. It contains a core service and a customization layer, both written in Python. It is used, amongst other things, to calculate insurance premiums, agent commissions and reporting.Your Day with Equisoft:

• Design and implement new functionalities and build upon the application architecture. For us, this means writing code that is robust, high-performance, secure and unwavering.

• Reviewing your colleagues’ code. We want to benefit from your input and expertise!

• Actively participating in the various agile meetings (the daily, retrospective, etc.) of your team. We want to hear your opinions!

• Participate in the analysis of functionalities regarding business needs as well as technological solutions.

• Participate in the continuous deployment of applications by applying the DevOps methodology

• Contribute and participate in the functional testing and documentation of existing and future applications.

• Ensure quality control by establishing and conducting test scenarios to validate that the systems and programs developed meet the specifications.

• Participate in the maintenance activities of the applications and functionalities of the product.

• Collaborate with different teams to solve customer issues.

Requirements:Technical

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Information Technology or College Diploma combined to 3 years of relevant experiences

• 5-7 years of experience as a developer with 2-3 years of recent experience in Python development.

• Expert in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework (Fast API)

• Good knowledge of event-driven architecture Framework (RabbitMQ) and Microservice Architecture (GraphSQL)

• Knowledge of SQL and database management

• Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Development and SOLID principles

• Good knowledge of unit tests and Test-Driven Development

• Knowledge of Agile and Kanban methodologies

• Knowledge of security challenges with web-based applications

• Experience in solving complex software engineering problems

• Knowledge and experience in the field of insurance & agency management systems (asset)

• Excellent knowledge of French & English (spoken and written)
