Role/Department Description:We are looking for a passionate software engineer with proficiency, experience and fluency in backend development, REST APIs, databases and AWS experience. Experience on front end, GenAI, NLP is an advantage for the role.You will be joining a team working mainly on AI/ML projects. The team focuses on innovation projects that can reinvent the way financial data is produced. With the combination of traditional ML and GenAI, the way we interact with data and documents can be revised.Data Solutions aims to deliver high value, connected data to fuel growth, improve client experiences, and provide a comprehensive suite of offerings that incorporate proprietary and third-party data sets, normalized through a common data model that ultimately enables clients to access market, company, and alternative data through various delivery methods.FactSet engineers demonstrate ability to criticize code and production for improvement, as well as to receive and apply feedback effectively to develop expertise on our products.Focus is on creating new back-end software that help increase volume of collected data with consistent quality, stability and adherence to best practices. This will allow the engineer to gain a mastery of the products to which one is contributing and begin to participate in forward design discussions for how to improve based on one’s observations of the code, systems and production involved.Responsibilities:

• Write clean, efficient and well-documented code using industry best practices
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles
• Use Python to build our back-end collection tools
• Ensuring that deployed products are properly maintained throughout their lifecycle
• Participate in design and code reviews of multiple projects across teams
• Should be quick learner and open to learn new things.
• Troubleshoot and Debug frontend and backend applications to resolve issues and optimize performances
• Understand and keep up to date with GenAI technology advances

Required Skills:

• Bachelor or Engineering degree required
• Fluent English
• Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• 3+ Years of experience in back-end development
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Database and SQL general knowledge (PostGres/Sql)
• Knowledge of REST API
• Cloud native development experience (AWS)
• Experience or knowledge of CI/CD concepts and Github would be appreciated
• Fluent English

Preferred Skills (not mandatory):

• Knowledge about ML and GenAI
• Experience with NLP text processing
• Knowledge in a Web Development framework
• Experience working with Docker
• Understanding of concepts such as Bag of Words, embeddings
• Able to work in a team of data scientists as well as in projection in other teams for the duration of the projects
