We support from planning to implementation of reliable process chains by understanding all the needs and requirements and make individual solutions possible.An exciting opportunity has arisen at our DP World Contract Logistics site for a Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Officer. We are looking for a passionate & engaging Health and Safety professional, to be based out of our operation in the Port of Stanford le Hope, Essex. Reporting to the Site Manager, the QEHS Officer will actively promote a safety culture and encourage safe working throughout the organisation. Our ideal candidate will be a confident Health and safety professional with a passion for promoting positive change and culture.Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience on site in a QEHS Officer position and a NEBOSH certification. We need your hands on experience and ‘can do’ attitude for this fast-paced role.Location: Stanford le Hope, EssexHours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri)Contract: PermanentHow You will Contribute

  • Manage the Health & Safety systems. Deliver training. Coach / lead the site teams. Investigate accidents and analyze data to drive improvements.
  • Report site KPIs / metrics to the corporate team. Generate improvement action plans where gaps are identified.
  • Maintaining the DP World Contract Logistics group accreditation of the management systems (Quality Environment, Health & Safety and Energy)
  • Manage and analyze data from customers and internal sources as input for problem solving and communicate/report to appropriate personnel. Interacts with staff within the location and within the Company and all customer and prospective customer representatives.
  • Directly supervises Quality functions and staff across all shifts and provides consistent direction of the company’s quality plans.
  • Develop and design irreversible corrective actions for known problems. Use established problem-solving techniques to reduce process variation
  • Manage quality processes and reports.
  • Champion Lean engineering goals. Includes being an aid in developing, implementing and maintaining a Lean culture within the organization using a hands-on approach to provide input on processes from a quality perspective.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Quality System. Reports to Management on effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Generate, interpret, analyze, and communicate results using management tools, graphs, and reports; actively coach the organization concerning quality with tools and reports.
  • Provide input on document enhancement and retention; Maintain ISO documentation and controls, administer activities required to maintain ISO certification, and actively coach the organization for maintaining ISO system.
  • Prepare, distribute and update the QEHS relevant documentation on site
  • Coaching managers and colleagues on safe working practices
  • Development and delivery of health and safety induction and health & safety, environment, energy and quality training to new and current colleagues
  • Develop policies, processes and procedures to adhere to statutory regulations and certification requirements
  • Produce and deliver Monthly Toolbox Talks to early, late, and night shifts

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred, but not essential.
  • IOSH and NEBOSH general certificate as a minimum qualification
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures used in logistics operations and practice.
  • Coaching and training individuals and teams
  • Development of policies and procedures relevant to certification requirements
  • Full UK drivers’ license
