We go beyond the classic research and development methodologies into the realm of limitless possibility for both body and mind. We innovate new materials that didn’t exist, we create new experiences for our guests that they didn’t know that they wanted it. We get our guests altogether and engineer new sensations in our materials they’ve never experienced. We need you to work on short, mid and long-term projects by defining ‘state of the art’, leading research, building insight, generating unique point of view, creating prototypes, and proving principles.a day in the life; what you’ll doYou will be responsible for driving innovation in textile material technologies, running material research and generating advanced yarn and fabric concepts, with a focus on developing performance and functional raw materials. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our innovation teams and project partners to develop novel solutions and contribute to the advancement of our technology and product portfolio.Your responsibilities include:

  • Conduct research and development activities to characterize, analyze, design and develop innovative fiber, yarn and fabric, together with the innovation teams and our project partners.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in textile and related industries to identify emerging trends and opportunities for innovation.
  • Collaborate with Raw Materials Innovation teams, cross-functional teams and partners, including engineers, material scientists, and product designers, to develop and implement new polymer and fiber-based products with unique properties and functionalities for defined applications.
  • Utilize a combination of traditional techniques and cutting-edge technologies to design, prototype and develop new fibers for desired properties and performance.
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to assist development of AI for raw materials innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, researchers, and project partners, to translate innovative concepts into practical textile products.
  • Maintain good communication on innovative textile concepts and materials development projects with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with external partners, universities, and research institutions to leverage external expertise and stay at the forefront of raw material innovation.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, data analysis, and results, and prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Identify and explore opportunities for intellectual property generation and contribute to patent drafting, when applicable.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments related to raw material technologies.
  • Document research findings, maintain accurate records, and contribute to technical reports and presentations.

  • You have 5+ years of experience in the textile material industry working with textile and related materials. Experience working on-site with textile development is beneficial.
  • You have strong knowledge of textile polymers, fibers, related materials and manufacturing processes.
  • You have knowledge and experience on AI and AI based material discovery, design, modeling and informatics.
  • You are creative thinking and have the ability to generate innovative ideas for textile material development.
  • You are proficient in material testing and characterization techniques specific to textiles.
  • You are familiarity with textile manufacturing processes, such as spinning, weaving, knitting, and nonwoven technologies.
  • You have knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly practices in textile materials is advantageous.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively.
  • You have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You are a team player with knowledge of cross-functional team accountabilities and requirements and have collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • You are able to travel and visit to mills at international locations.

The typical hiring range for this position is from $96,800 – $127,100 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
