We will provide all the training needed to be a successful Recreation Assistant but we also believe that employing people from a mix of employment backgrounds can offer a wider benefit to our team, some of which might be in their first ever job and need more support from their manager and colleagues.In the role of Recreation Assistant, you will be our first point of contact with visiting football teams and will work with the club officials on match days to ensure the smooth running of the site. You will be responsible for opening & closing the site ready for weekend football matches including distributing and collecting equipment for pitch set ups (nets, corner flags etc). After games you will be responsible for cleaning down the site including team changing rooms & facilities to maintain high cleanliness standards as well as setting up the site for any functions or meetings that get booked.If you want to progress further, we will support this through additional training, both formal and on the job will be key. However, we also appreciate that not everyone wants to ‘move up the ladder’ and that’s absolutely fine with us.   • Open/close Spearpoint Pavilion ready for weekend football matches (Key holder)
  • Cleaning duties including all the facilities after football matches
  • Set up events such as parties or meetings
  • To sell food & beverages
  • Liase with football clubs about pitch arrangements
  • Check pitch for suitability of play during poor weather
  • Distribute pitch equipment to hiring football clubs
  • Basic maintenance of Spearpoint Pavilion and the attached Tennis Courts
  • Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers
  • To be able to work flexibly with a level of autonomy and decision making confidence
