Red Seal Mechanic – DuncanTransdev is now hiring a Red Seal Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport mechanic for our Duncan, British Columbia location!We are seeking a permanent, full-time mechanic for the Cowichan Valley Regional Transit location. We are also offering a competitive hourly rate of $43.45/hr!Your role

• Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision. Repairs include brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
• Remove, overhaul and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision.
• Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections and annual maintenance inspections.
• Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately.
• Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
• Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
• Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
• Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
• Adhere to Transdev’s standards, policies and procedures.
• Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.

Your profile

• You have a Red Seal certification as a Commercial transport/ heavy-duty mechanic. Automotive red seal will also be considered.
• You have a high school diploma or GED (required).
• You have a valid class 5 BC driver’s license with airbrakes or greater.
• Air endorsement is required.
• You have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
• Adhere to provincial CVSE standards and Federal Motor Vehicle Act.
• You have advanced problem-solving ability.
• You have advanced computer skills.
• You are able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• You are able to work the assigned shift.
