Reports To:Director of Buildings, Grounds, and Maintenance
Pay:$20 per hour
FLSA Status:Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Location:10 Main Street Waterloo, NY
Healthy Kids is looking for an experienced, skilled, detail-oriented, self-starter to occupy the position of Regional Maintenance Technician for the company.The position is responsible for the weekly maintenance of our programs across Western NY. Travel between locations will be necessary. Further, this position is responsible for reporting any issues with buildings and collaborating to find a solution. Monthly building inspections and some administrative work will be required as well.
This position is accountable for ensuring the function of our facilities and upholding the standard expected by our parents here at Healthy Kids Programs. The Regional Maintenance Technician will align his/her scope of work with the Healthy Kids Mission while incorporating Healthy Kids Core Values as the guiding principle for all work activities. Healthy Kids is planning to grow in this area and purchase additional locations. This position will grow with the purchases of buildings in the area.
Maintenance Requirements of the Daycares are as follows:

Weekly-Monthly travel across Western New York to visit properties for repairs

Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.

Performing preventative maintenance.Handling basic repairs and maintenance.

Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
-
Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
-
Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
-
Renovation work
-
Conducting jobs that include painting, light electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Framing, Mudding, Landscaping, and all other skills required for the maintenance and renovation of buildings and grounds
Admin Work
-
If viable candidate will be assigned small administrative tasks when maintenance work slows down.

Overseeing grant projects and acting as the “eyes and ears for the company”
Requirements
Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to pass a background check.

Basic knowledge of chemical cleaners and their applications

Proven maintenance experience.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Related degree from a technical college.

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.

Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

Experience performing routine maintenance.

Strong organizational and follow up skills.

Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

Strong time management skills.
Education/Experience:
-
At least 3 years of experience in property maintenance
-
Experience driving box trucks preferred

An employment history going back at least 5 years

Associates degree preferred, not required
Language Ability:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate effectively with all third-party payer representatives as well as internal staff members including program staff.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be very active, moving carpets, filling mop buckets, and occasionally moving furniture. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
