JOB DESCRIPTIONAscendo is hiring for our NYC-based client, seeking an experienced Remote Grants Manager for a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering up to $110k.Overview:
This fully remote role involves managing federal grants, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with government guidelines. The manager will oversee a team of two grant accountants and handle all aspects of grant accounting, federal audits, and budget monitoring in a dynamic, virtual work environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and support a fully remote team of two grant accountants, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all grant-related activities.
  • Grant Management: Handle federal and reimbursable grants, ensuring compliance with government and state regulations while managing all aspects of grant accounting and reconciliation.
  • Budget Monitoring: Track and manage grant budgets remotely, addressing any overspending or reallocation needs, and keeping teams informed of their financial status.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Submit required financial reports to federal and state agencies, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements and deadlines, while working closely with internal stakeholders via remote communication.
  • Account Reconciliation: Lead the monthly close process, ensuring grant expenditures and revenues are accurately tracked and reconciled using remote accounting tools.
  • Software Transition: Currently utilizing Great Plains and PMS (Payment Management System) for accounting and grant submissions, with a scheduled transition to a new platform in March. This transition will be fully managed in a remote environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8+ years of nonprofit accounting experience, with specific expertise in federal grants management.
  • Proven remote management experience, overseeing a team of grant accountants.
  • Proficiency in OMB Uniform Guidance, federal audits, and grant reporting.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with program teams and stakeholders in a virtual setting.
  • Advanced Excel Skills(VLOOKUPS, PIVOT TABLES)
